Working with Schools and Teachers forms a key part of the Data Education for Schools project. We are keen to create a collaborative community of schools and teachers. Delivering a transformative change of in data education will require collaboration, shared learning and partnership over the long term.

In the immediate future the Data Education for Schools project team will focus on creating an online Knowledge Sharing Community (KSC). We are also creating a Resource library of classroom activities and how-to guides to help get started in data education.

Priority for access to the KSC will be given to schools and teachers across the city region in 2020/2021 academic year. Thereafter we aim to welcome all interested groups.

If your school is outside of the city deal region we’d still love to hear from you. There will be opportunities to take part in our professional learning online seminars, access our resources and even submit your own.

Please get in touch with us if you would like to be part of our growing community of data educators. Here are some ways you can get involved:

  • Do you have great ideas for data learning in your subject area?
  • Do you have existing resources that you have piloted?
  • Are you interested in collaborating with us to write new materials?
  • Are you interested in working with other schools to share knowledge and experience in data education?

We also welcome other ideas on working with schools and teachers. Email us at dataschools@ed.ac.uk with your ideas.
