Last week saw the launch of our Internet of Things project which will see classroom sensors offered to all 550 schools across the South East of Scotland.
The sensors will be able to gauge CO2, temperature, humidity, air pressure and light levels. Some schools will also receive outdoor air quality monitors, soil moisture sensors and weather stations.
Roslin Primary School and Newbattle High School have been involved in the Internet of Things pilot working with engineers, data educators and technologists to design a range of classroom solutions.
The aim of the Internet of Things project is to help the pupils of today become the data citizens of tomorrow. Using data from the sensors, learners will be able to contribute to real world change in their school environment.
