Online Data Literacy course for student teachers and probationers

Supporting early career primary teachers to build confidence with data literacy

We’re excited to introduce a new online professional learning course designed for student and probationary primary teachers in Scotland. Created by PhD student Mustafa Ciftcioglu at the University of Edinburgh, the course helps early career teachers explore how to teach data literacy in meaningful, playful, and curriculum-linked ways especially early years settings.

Participants will engage with interactive modules on key concepts like asking good questions, using the PPDAC cycle, applying data and making decisions in real classroom contexts. The course also promotes collaboration through live sessions and a community of practice.
