Demystifying AI for Teachers is a short introductory session designed to provide a starting point for teachers who want to better understand AI and its implications for education. Rather than trying to cover everything, the session will introduce key ideas and signpost trusted resources and guidance for further exploration.
Led by Teacher Associates from the Centre for Teaching Excellence, we will briefly explore three areas:
AI is already here – What do we actually mean by AI, and where are we already encountering it in our classrooms?
Guidance and guardrails – An introduction to the developing Scottish landscape, including policy and guidance, data protection, children’s rights and the UNCRC.
What does this mean for learners? – What might learners need to understand about AI, and what is our role as educators in supporting them?
Whether AI is completely new to you or you have already started exploring it, this session offers a place to begin, and a pathway to continue your professional learning.
This event is part of a series: Navigating AI in Education: A Starting Point for Teachers.
