Trellis is an AI scribe for additional support needs paperwork which is currently being used across 78 schools in seven Scottish councils.

It was developed and piloted in schools as part of the Scottish Government CivTech challenge in 2025.

During this session, Andy Bell, its CEO, will share what the team has learned in the process of building and piloting Trellis: where AI can help with a child’s plans and meeting minutes and where it does not. It will review the open questions around consent, teacher oversight and the quality of what gets written about a child.

The session is aimed at teachers and school leaders who are interested in the ways that AI used responsibly can support ASN teachers and pupils.
