Jungles are wonderful places, full of intriguing creatures and plants with interesting behaviour. What if thinking about the unexpected ways that the living creatures which inhabit the jungle behave and interact could help us understand AI systems?

– Preface: Exploring the AI Jungle

Thanks to generous funding from the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the Bridging AI Responsible Divides programme, Judy Robertson, Laura Meagher and Elspeth Maxwell created a picturebook and a teachers’ guide explaining ways how a type of Artificial Intelligence called Generative AI could be used in schools.

Find out more about the wider project here: https://blogs.ed.ac.uk/youngpeopleandai/.

If your primary school is in South East Scotland, then you will get a copy of the book and teachers’ guide by post. You can also download the picture book and the teachers’ guide below. If you use these materials and share your work on X, tag us @data_schools and use the hashtag #ExploreAIJungle.
