We are happy to be able to offer some funded places for teachers in Scotland to attend the UK and Ireland Computing Education Research (UKICER) conference, a forum for researchers and practitioners to meet and share advances in computer science education.

The conference will take place at the University of Edinburgh on the 4th-5th September 2025.

The opportunity is open to teachers in Scotland only. We invite interested teachers to complete this Expression of Interest form.

Judy Robertson, Serdar Abaci, the Data Education in Schools Team and the AI Teachers in Residence will deliver a keynote presentation titled “Teaching Responsible AI Literacy in Schools: Perspectives from academics and teachers”.

We will also present the paper “Secondary Students as Co-Researchers on Generative AI in Learning: Empowering Youth to Shape National Education Policy“, the result of a research collaboration between the University of Edinburgh, the SQA and young people (Young People’s Use of AI to Support Learning – Data Education in Schools).
