As part of our work for as the Digital Education and AI Literacy in Advancing Pedagogy Hub at The Centre for Teaching Excellence, we have worked with Teacher Associates across Scotland to develop research briefs designed to support teachers in their practice.
The AI and Additional Support Needs research brief is a companion to our first research brief, Introduction to AI in Schools, and focuses specifically on what AI means for learners with additional support needs (ASN). It describes the terms ASN, particularly in Scottish context, presents potential opportunities that AI may offer for learners with ASN, along with some points to be mindful of, in a balanced view. The brief concludes with some guidance for teachers, reflection questions and further reading. The resources are carefully chosen to be free to access and not hidden behind paywalls.
