We are delighted to be launching TRAILS Teaching Responsible AI Literacy in Schools, our dedicated website to showcase our work bringing AI literacy into the Scottish schools.

TRAILS hosts free resources on how to use AI in your classroom, including our brand new “Teach AI Literacy: A Guide for Teachers” handbook

On Friday 23 May, we hosted a launch event in the Edinburgh Futures Institute. Our team presented these resources and the research behind them to an audience of 19 in-person and 27 online attendants, including 27 teachers from local authorities across Scotland. The launch included presentations from the Data Education in Schools team leader Professor Judy Robertson and Professor Jen Ross (Centre for Research in Digital Education, University of Edinburgh).

TRAILS is the result of various streams of work funded through the Responsible AI UK programme (with partners at The Scottish Government, Education Scotland, The Scottish Qualification Authority), the ESRC Impact Acceleration Accounts grant, and the BRAID programme. Explore our projects focusing on AI literacy: AI Literacy – Data Education in Schools.

Visit TRAILS.scot – Teaching Responsible AI Literacy in Schools and download our handbook and resources now!

Note: we are aware that some teachers are having problems accessing the site from managed devices and we are working to overcome these teething issues.

We will be hosting two other online sessions to launch the website and resources:

Tuesday 3rd June, 7-8pm – online only

Registration (via Teams)

Thursday 5th June, 4-5pm – online only
