What we do

We are a world-leading centre for data and AI literacy, supporting young people across Scotland to have a critical awareness of data, AI, and emerging tech, and its impact on their lives and on those around them.

How we do this

We offer high quality, evidence-based, accessible education about data, AI, and emerging technologies to school teachers and learners, regardless of gender, support needs, location or background. All our teaching resources and professional learning opportunities are free.

Our priorities are to equip all young people…

  • to use, interpret, and communicate data critically and ethically to inform decision-making.
  • with the necessary critical thinking skills and awareness of their rights to safely and responsibly navigate the digital world.

We do this by…

  • working with teachers to offer sustainable skills progression based on research-informed pedagogy
  • developing free, innovative classroom resources co-created with teachers and learners
  • influencing education policy to ensure that the curriculum works for all learners as they navigate the future

Shaping Education Policy:

We work with policymakers in Scottish government, Education Scotland and the Scottish exam board, Qualifications Scotland, to ensure the Scottish education system keeps pace with emerging technological advancement in society.

We also work with international partners to share best practice across borders and shape global policy on technology and education.
