We are honoured to have been Highly Commended at the University of Edinburgh’s Centre for Data, Culture & Society (CDCS) Digital Research Prizes ceremony in the category “Best Impact from a Data-Led project”.
We have been awarded for our data-themed Escape Rooms, which have been influencing discussions on game-based learning in Scotland and abroad since 2023 and have so far equipped over 5000 learners in Scotland and the UK with the data skills they need to live and work in today’s society. An ongoing project launched in 2023, the Escape Rooms are designed for P5-P7 and S1-S3 learners and build on research-informed pedagogy, suggesting that, when attentively-designed, game-based learning can effectively support young learners’ skill development.
We would like to thank the Centre for Data, Culture & Society for the award and congratulate Equally Safe Online, who were winners in the “Best Impact from a Data-Led project” category, alongside all other winners and highly-commended submissions.
