This spring Judy Robertson, Jasmeen Kanwal and Kate Farrell held three AI literacy information sessions for parents and families for Education Scotland’s Parentzone, with around 200 people attending across the series.

The first webinar “Everything you wanted to know about AI” on the 21 April introduced families to what Artificial Intelligence is (and is not) and what it does (and cannot do), including mention of some of the most commonly used AI technologies.

On the 13 May, our team delivered a session with Children’s Parliament and The Young Women’s Movement focusing on the bias of AI systems, and the importance of an ethics approach to AI literacy and online safety.

The concluding session with Qualifications Scotland on the 4 June explored AI from a children’s learning and assessment perspective.
