Data Education in Schools

Organiser Website
Young people from across the college partnership schools are invited to explore the world of data skills through a variety of fun activities.

Day of Data events will now be held in March 2022 at each of the Colleges in the DDI Skills Gateway partnership – Edinburgh , Fife , West Lothian and Borders College.

What is Day of Data?

Young people from across each of the College’s partnership schools are invited to explore the world of data skills through a variety of fun and interactive activities. From creating unique ‘data selfies’ to a data-inspired Pokemon Go style game, from exploring data in a health and social care setting, to a legal setting or in rural agriculture, the message of the day is that data is everywhere, understanding and working with data might take many new, different and surprising forms both in a personal and career setting.

The DDI Skills Gateway is creating opportunities for young people across the Edinburgh and South East Scotland city region to develop data skills and literacies, gain qualifications in data science and pursue new and exciting careers in a data-rich world.

We are delighted to be partnering with the Design Informatics teams at the University of Edinburgh, Digital Skills Education for these events.
