Learning to defend the rhino with data science, for teachers, schools and computing science students

Behind the Scenes – Data Skills Live: Defend The Rhino ?

In this session we’ll talk about the process of creating engaging and interactive online events for young people. We’ll show you what we’ve learned from the past 4 years of live-streaming workshops to thousands of young people across Scotland, and give you some practical hints and tips about adapting your own events or classes for an online audience.

We will also give you an early preview of a new interactive lesson: “Data Skills Live: Defend The Rhino ?” where learners will use data science skills and help stop a gang of rhino poachers. You’ll get to play-test this new activity, and help us shape it before it launches later this year.

We will send you a link with details of how to log in to this session (through Eventbrite) 1 day before the event and (again) 1 hour before the event is due to start.

If you would like to attend this event please contact Jo Spiller for registration details – jo.spiller@ed.ac.uk
